Alexandra Hart

Alexandra is a young playwright and novelist based in Oxford. After many years of experience in theatre creation and the publication of her first novel at the age of just 19, she is now combining her passions. Her debut play ‘Hysteria’ is being produced in London in November 2025 by Counterminers Production Company, while she continues to work on her new novel ‘Bystander’, based on her grandfather’s story as an anti-apartheid activist. Her previous work in theatre includes directing a new musical at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2022, an international tour of A Midsummer Night's Dream across the UK and US, and a rehearsed reading of her play ‘Mother Knows Best’ at the Et Cetera Theatre in Camden She also works as a theatre reviewer for VoiceMag, appearing as a guest on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour to discuss her lead article. Her debut novel, published when she was just 19 years of age, sold over 800 copies and is being included in a children’s summer reading programme in July 2025. Alexandra focusses on cross-historical and cross-genre work, telling unusual stories from unusual angles.
